Content
This unit aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to support children who have been impacted by trauma and adversity to achieve their learning outcomes through intentional play pedagogies.
The unit covers core elements of trauma and adversity in the context of education, including the effects of trauma on learning, behaviour and relationships.
The unit introduces broad issues of trauma and trauma-responsive practices through play pedagogies and practices that aim to support children who have experienced trauma and adversity to achieve positive relational and learning outcomes.
