Scheduled learning activities - cloud (online) | 2 x 1-hour Blackboard Collaborate sessions will be conducted in week 4 and week 8 of the trimester. Participation is voluntary, sessions will be recorded. Online independent and group discussions will also be required through the discussion board |

Content
This unit focuses on the increasingly significant role being played by applied learning in 21st Century education and training settings and investigates the reasons for this development. The unit examines the theory and practice of applied learning as a pedagogical phenomenon and as a curriculum-structuring concept. It draws on state, national and international contexts, both current and historic, to examine the ways in which teaching and learning is given an applied focus.
The unit examines contemporary understandings about applied learning in a variety of national and international contexts, including schools, TAFEs, Universities, Polytechnics, and Adult and Community Education (ACE) contexts.
