Content
This unit uses dance and gymnastics to explore the science and art of movement education and performance skills. Inclusivity and critical analysis are used to explore both the theoretical and practical perspectives.
Through dance and gymnastics seminars, students investigate how to structure a safe learning environment that includes mutual respect, support, inclusivity and co-operative participation in health and physical education. Emphasis is also placed on pre-service teachers applying an understanding of planning and teaching for learning through; setting appropriate learning intentions, sequencing learning experiences, effectively organising and facilitating activities and applying summative assessment strategies.
