Content

This unit draws on previous discipline and pedagogical content knowledge and skills to examine a range of teaching and assessment strategies to support the delivery of senior secondary physical education as a curriculum area in schools. This unit has a strong experiential base so that students are supported in their development of theoretical and practical teaching strategies that equip them to be highly effective teachers of Senior Secondary Physical Education. The unit initially examines physical education theory, pedagogy and practice relevant to senior secondary curricula in this teaching area (including Senior Secondary pathways in Victoria, Vocational Education and Training (VET) and the International Baccalaureate) and requires students to be critical in their identification and selection of a range of resources that support its practice in schooling settings.
