Students will on average spend 150 hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.

Scheduled learning activities - campus

Campus: 2 face-to-face contact hours per week (1 x 1 hour class + 1 x 1 hour seminar). The class and seminar will be recorded and placed online at the end of the seminar.

Online: 2 x 1 hour class (recordings provided)
Burwood and Waurn Ponds students must attend the weekly seminar, which will include a quiz and discussion of online lecture content.


This unit aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the role that nanotechnology will play in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions in the future. This unit will look at how this rapidly developing field will impact human health and the challenges involved.
