Content

This unit aims to develop students’ research skills as a key social work method or approach. It demonstrates how applied social work research is connected to policies, programs, and areas of practice, and how it can be used to facilitate change by identifying gaps in services, policies, and current practices. The unit builds on students’ prior knowledge by introducing research methodologies and methods that can be applied to enhance social work practice and support social change. It also prepares students to engage with research as practitioners, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to critically evaluate research and apply findings appropriately in practice.
