Study commitment

Students will on average spend 150 hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.

This will include educator guided online learning activities within the unit site.

Content

This capstone unit involves students undertaking an industry-based information systems pilot project. Projects will involve project management, business or systems analysis, systems development or business case development. Students will be placed into a project team on the basis of their skills and experience, and each team will be assigned a client. Projects will involve either: the design and/or implementation of an information system; or the preparation of business case recommendations. The unit also covers project management theory and techniques and provides students with the opportunity to apply the theory to their allotted project.

Hurdle requirement

Hurdle requirement: Campus students must attend all in-class stand-up meetings during the trimester. Online students must submit a recording of at least three stand-up meetings during the trimester. Successfully complete the professional literacy module to gain access to the assignment dropbox.
