Students will on average spend 150 hours over the teaching period undertaking the teaching, learning and assessment activities for this unit.
This will include educator guided online learning activities within the unit site.

1 x 2 hour online content per week (recordings provided), 1 x 2 hour seminar per week. All students are required to attend and participate in activities for this unit at scheduled sessions during the trimester including intensive week (typically week 6).

In this unit students will be introduced to heat transfer principles such as conduction, convection and radiation. And introduction to modern numerical methods in heat transfer is given to solve a heat transfer problem.
To be eligible to obtain a pass in this unit students must achieve at least 40% in the End-of-Unit Assessment and 40% in the report associated with practical experience (laboratory) works.
