Leading people through major digital projects
This masterclass provides you with the skills needed to lead teams, or a whole organisation, through a major digital initiative. It provides an applied learning experience, with students navigating through the first 90 days of leading a digital transformation.
Over a series of sessions, experience the highs, lows and common pitfalls of digital transformation projects and develop the ‘digital leadership’ skills required to deliver a successful major digital project.
You'll be exposed to real-life scenarios, panel discussions with seasoned digital transformation experts and frameworks, which have been successfully applied in practice.
You’ll be equipped with the knowledge to articulate what a digital transformation means, as well as the expertise to identify opportunities and establish transformation agendas within their own context.
Presenter: Mark Cameron
Mark has been in the digital strategy and transformation space since the late-90s and has worked with companies such as SAP North America, GSK, Australia Post and Telstra. He is currently the CEO of W3. Digital, a consultancy that specialises in enabling and leading digital transformation initiatives.
Mark has worked on a vast array of digital and customer-focused projects, including political elections, global brand strategy, innovation strategy, transformation initiatives and digital product development.
Looking past the immediate landscape to be able to set a bold, long term strategy that is centred around customers’ needs. Identify and shape the 'big opportunity' discussion within your organisation.
Understand and shift the risk appetite of an organisation. Move the culture so it improves the cadence of delivering new value to market.
Identify and develop the required skills, processes and technology requirements to create believable momentum in an organisation.
Shape the governance, leadership and operating models required to ensure success.
You must attend all four masterclass sessions to record a pass mark.

Your formal assessment includes:
- 100% attendance at all masterclass online sessions
- Verbal and written presentation (group work):
a. convey the key messages of your transformation agenda based on the scenario set in the masterclass
b. provide a digital strategy and 90-day plan based on the scenario set in the masterclass.
- Reflection exercise (individual).
Fees and recognition
This masterclass is open to all, not just Deakin MBA students, and costs $1800 (inc. GST, no FEE-HELP). Two masterclasses can be stacked together to earn one credit point (as an elective unit) towards your Deakin MBA.
