Benefits
Cash payment of up to $5000 per trimester for up to three trimesters.
The maximum value of this scholarship is $15,000.
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible you must:
- be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person
- be enrolled full time in the Bachelor of Design (Architecture), either as a single or double degree, at Deakin University in Trimester 2 2024
Preference will be given to students experiencing an area of hardship.
Conditions
As a scholarship recipient you:
- write an introduction statement about your goals for study and what it means to receive this scholarship
- are required to provide a completion statement at the conclusion of your studies
- must maintain a satisfactory academic record for the duration of your scholarship, with a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 60
- cannot concurrently hold another scholarship of similar criteria
- must agree to attend a meet and greet with the donor.

How to apply
To be considered for this scholarship, please contact the Deakin Scholarships Office with an Expression of Interest. You will then be provided with an application form.
The expression of interest should include your Deakin student ID number and your course of study.
The scholarship application process is highly competitive with a limited number of scholarships available. Unfortunately, not all eligible applicants will receive one.
What happens next?
Your application will be assessed and ranked based on the details you provide and your supporting documentation.
If you are successful, you will be contacted by the email address you nominated within your application portal account, unsuccessful applicants will not be contacted.
You'll find out if you were successful usually within four weeks of the application closing date. If you have not received an offer by this time, you have been unsuccessful. You can view the status of your application via your scholarship application portal account.
Additional opportunities
There may be an opportunity for you to undertake a work placement with ClarkeHopkinsClarke (CHC) Architects in their Collingwood office over the summer break. The decision to accept any potential offer is yours and will not impact your eligibility to receive the scholarship.
