Deakin Warrnambool Residential Scholarships
Applications open Monday 8 September 2025 and close 5pm Wednesday 28 January 2026.
Providing assistance with living costs for students in Deakin Residences in Warrnambool.
Value
- 50% of accommodation costs with Deakin Residences Warrnambool. Current value approximately $4000 - $4500 per year.
Duration
- Awarded for the normal full-time duration of your course.
Am I eligible?
Ensure you meet all criteria before submitting an application. To be eligible you must be:
- a domestic student
- commencing study at the Deakin Warrnambool Campus (on-campus study) in Trimester/Semester 1, 2026
- reside at Deakin Residences Warrnambool.
Selection criteria
Preference will be given to students who:
- are able to demonstrate financial disadvantage i.e. in receipt of a means-tested Centrelink benefit, Low Income Health Care Card or have a personal or family taxable income below the threshold determined by the University
- need to relocate to study.
This scholarship is not transferrable to other campuses and only applies to accommodation costs with Deakin Residences Warrnambool. No further residential cost discounts will apply.
Maintaining this scholarship
To retain this scholarship you must:
- continue to reside at Deakin Residences Warrnambool
- remain enrolled in on-campus studies at the Deakin Warrnambool Campus.
Offer rounds
Scholarship offers will commence from 11 December 2025, in line with the release of VCE results and ATARs. Further offers will be made progressively from mid-January 2026 until all scholarships have been awarded and taken up.
All offers for this scholarship will be made within six weeks of the Re-offer round closing date. If you're successful, you'll be notified via email. Unsuccessful applicants will not be contacted.
Early round
To be considered for an early round scholarship offer, ensure your scholarship application and all supporting documents are submitted by 5pm on Thursday 4 December 2025, and that Deakin Warrnambool campus is listed in your VTAC course preferences by the change of preference deadline at 4pm on Monday 8 December 2025.
Round one
To be considered for a round one scholarship offer, you must submit your scholarship application and all supporting documents by 5pm on Wednesday 7 January 2026, and have received an offer to study a bachelor degree at Deakin Warrnambool campus in 2026.
We will be aiming for full allocation of available scholarships in this round.
Re-offer round
To be considered for any remaining scholarships, you must submit your scholarship application and all supporting documents by 5pm on Wednesday 28 January 2026, and have received an offer to study a bachelor degree at Deakin Warrnambool campus in 2026.
Ready to apply?
If you've already submitted an equity schemes (SEAS) and scholarships application through VTAC, you'll automatically be considered for this scholarship – there's no need to reapply direct to Deakin.
Alternatively, register and log in to Deakin's Scholarship Application Portal, then select 'Undergraduate Scholarship Application Tri/Sem 1 2026'.
Numbers of this scholarship are limited; not all eligible applicants will receive one. If you're successful, you'll be notified via email; usually within six weeks of the application closing date. Unsuccessful applicants will not be contacted.
Supporting documents
As part of the application process, you will also be required to upload current supporting documentation by the closing dates listed above. These should be current, relevant and concise.
The documents required for this scholarship include:
- evidence of your financial hardship (if applicable).
Make sure you choose the correct document type when you upload your documents – it will make a difference. If your documents are uploaded as the incorrect type they will not be considered when assessing your application. Remember it is quality, not quantity, which you need to provide.
