Content
This unit introduces, and asks students to practice, critical analysis of journalism and news. It employs journalism and communication studies theories along with practical exercises to give student critical understanding of what it means to be work in the field of journalism, and to be a reflective practitioner. Students will articulate, analyse and evaluate the news media and the role of journalism in society from a range of historical and contemporary perspectives, including that of the journalist, their news organisation, the industry and the audience.
