Biography

I am a proactive and driven translational researcher committed to life-long learning and conducting research with tangible outputs in patient populations. My research focuses on improving outcomes for people with cancer cachexia by applying evidence-based interventions in person-centred care to this large and understudied cohort of people requiring high-level medical support.

As one of the academic leads with the Deakin University & Barwon Health Cachexia Group, my research trajectory amplifies the voice of cancer patients in the application and evaluation of multidisciplinary therapies for cancer cachexia and translating these therapies into clinical practice. Family experience fuels my life-long goal to improve quality of life for patients experiencing cancer and cachexia.

I actively engage with non-expert populations to enhance qualitative understanding of their health, and am a passionate advocate for improving mentoring and career development opportunities, championing diversity for emerging researchers and clinicians from traditionally under-represented backgrounds.
