Recent Deakin research

Dr Genevieve Pepin is the course director and honours coordinator of Deakin’s occupational therapy course. Dr Pepin’s research is focused on mental health and, in particular, eating disorders.

Dr Pepin has led a series of successful workshops to provide a forum and support to carers looking after someone suffering from an eating disorder, which was then trialled across Victoria with the Eating Disorders Foundation of Victoria.

‘Caring for someone with an eating disorder can be difficult and is associated with significant strain, worry, stress and fatigue. Carers are an invaluable part of an eating-disorder sufferer’s recovery and treatment; it is therefore important that we provide support for the carers as well,’ Dr Pepin says.
