Staff development program
We offer a range of courses through the staff development program that enable skill development, career progression and personal growth.
We provide secondment opportunities to eligible staff to support their career development goals.
Job vacancies which are fixed-term appointments could potentially be a secondment arrangement if the successful applicant were a current Deakin staff member (subject to approval).
Academic study program
The academic study program is a professional development opportunity for academic staff to take time out from their normal duties to pursue research or scholarly work outside the university.
We also provide some financial assistance and study leave for staff undertaking an approved course of study (to gain a tertiary qualification).
Vice-Chancellor's Professional Development Awards
These awards provide an opportunity for professional staff to undertake a professional development program (identified in consultation with their manager/supervisor) that will assist the University in achieving its strategic objectives.
Vice-Chancellor's Prizes and Awards
Each year the Vice-Chancellor confers a number of awards on staff (both individuals and groups) in recognition of their excellent contribution to the university.
Achievement awards (at a local level)
We recognise staff who have performed work beyond that required or expected of them.
