CHC Indigenous Pathways Scholarship

The CHC Indigenous Pathway Scholarship aims to encourage representation of indigenous professionals in Australian architecture.

Important dates

Applications for Trimester 1 2020 open 12 December 2019.

Applications for Trimester 1 2020 close 22 January 2020 at 5pm.

Benefits

Cash payment of up to $5000 per year for up to three years. Plus a $5000 per year for two further years if you continue onto postgraduate Architecture studies.

The maximum total value of this scholarship is $25 000.

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible you must:

  • be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person
  • be a commencing student enrolled in the Bachelor of Design (Architecture) at Deakin University in Trimester 1 2020
  • have an intention to continue onto postgraduate studies in Architecture at Deakin University.

Preference will be given to students experiencing an area of hardship.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview as part of the selection process.

Conditions

As a scholarship recipient you:

  • write an introduction statement about their goals for study and what it means to receive the scholarship
  • are required to complete a statement at the end of each year detailing how this scholarship has helped you with your studies
  • must maintain a satisfactory academic record for the duration of your scholarship, with a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 60
  • cannot concurrently hold another scholarship of similar criteria
  • must agree to attend a meet and greet with the donor.

What happens next?

Your application will be assessed and ranked based on the details you provide and your supporting documentation. Shortlisted students will be invited to attend an interview.

You'll find out if you were successful usually within six weeks of the application closing date.

Additional opportunities

There may be an opportunity for you to undertake a work placement with ClarkeHopkinsClarke (CHC) Architects in their Collingwood office over the summer break.  The decision to accept any potential offer is yours and will not impact your eligibility to receive the scholarship.
