What's involved?

The LWOW program is broken up into two segments. The first segment is a four-week LWOW Sprint-X run in January and February 2021, and consists of 4 x 4-hour workshops. The second segment, LWOW Sprint-X Inc., begins the week after the Sprint-X.

First segment

Students will be assigned to a team made up of student hackers, volunteer mentors and team leader hackers from one of our sponsoring law firms, law companies, or corporate legal departments.

You'll meet online each Wednesday as a community to workshop and complete exercises in teams to help develop Projects of Worth. In between weekly community workshops, student hackers will hack on their projects (guided by the team’s project manager, volunteer mentors, sponsor lead hackers and the LWOW Leadership team).

Second segment

You'll carry on with your Sprint-X team (including volunteer mentors/project managers and any sponsors that stay involved). You'll continue to refine, distill and incubate your team’s Projects of Worth developed during LWOW Sprint-X. The focus over the second segment (approximately three months) is developing a full business plan, challenging assumptions and prototyping.

Teams attend weekly webinars to contextualise innovation in law by covering the broad topics that frame the narrower challenges assigned to teams in the LWOW Sprint. Topics of these recordings include consumer storytelling, prototyping, branding and business planning and more. Teams also have various milestone meetings with the LWOW leadership team.

The LWOW program will end with a virtual ConPosium in April where three finalists will be chosen.

On 21 April, LWOW hopes to have multiple PopPosiums: in person viewing parties around the globe to network, celebrate and select a winning team in various locations.
