PhD scholarship - Fulbright Commission

The Australian-American Fulbright Commission is a non-profit organisation sponsored by the U.S. and Australian governments, institutional and business partners and private bequests and endowments.


The commission promotes education and cultural exchange between Australia and the United States, in order to enhance mutual understanding and strengthen relations between the two countries.

It facilitates this through the implementation of the Fulbright program and other scholarships and exchanges.

Current scholarships

Postgraduate Scholarships
For postgraduate students undertaking their Australian PhD to conduct research and/or study in the U.S.; or to support enrolment in a U.S. postgraduate program such as a masters. Includes the prestigious Fulbright-Anne Wexler Scholarship in Public Policy.

Postdoctoral Scholarships
For individuals (who have completed their PhD in the past 5 years, or are in the last year of completion) to undertake postdoctoral research in the U.S.
