Release and refund
You need to apply for a release and refund separately.
What is a release application?
Temporary transfer arrangements are in effect under the National Code from 2 October 2026 to 30 June 2027 which restrict education providers from enrolling transferring students before they have completed 12 calendar months of their principal course (previously this was 6 calendar months).
Deakin is not permitted to enrol a student who intends to transfer to Deakin who has not completed 12 months of their principal course at the institution from which they are transferring, unless that institution has provided them with a release. You are not required to get a release after completing six months of your principal course and can transfer freely.
Please read the release guidelines and refund information before submitting your application.
Want to apply for a release and refund?
If you want to apply for both a release and a refund, we recommend that you lodge your release application first, then wait for a response and only submit your refund application after you have received a release outcome letter.
Please note the refund percentage depends upon the date you lodge your refund application.
