Head of the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences
Professor Brad Aisbett has been the Head of the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences since 2020. Brad joined the school in 2008. During his time within the school, he has served as Higher Degrees by Research Director; Associate Head of School (Teaching & Learning); and Deputy Head of School. He has chaired Exercise and Sport Science Practicum, Exercise Prescription, and Research Training units in either undergraduate or postgraduate courses.
Outside of the school, Brad has served as Deputy Chair of University Teaching and Learning Committee and currently chairs Deakin's Heads of Departments and School Committee. Brad has dedicated his research career to human performance optimisation, with a particular focus on individuals in physically demanding and safety-critical occupations such as emergency and military services. His specific expertise includes the analysis of physical work demands, workers’ heat stress and hydration, stress, sleep and fatigue; and development of job specific fitness tests. To date, he has worked in partnership with more than 25 organisations, spanning the civilian and military emergency services, contributing to their policy and procedures on workers' health, safety, and selection
