Warrnambool Rural Clinical School is a unique clinical school, offering small tutorial group sizes for more personalised teaching. It offers outstanding access to teaching staff, hospital wards and theatre, with a great camaraderie between staff and students.
Students have access to the regional hospital, giving them exposure to a wide variety of presentations, and the teaching staff provide an excellent grounding in all disciplines. A smaller number of students means a smaller student-to-patient ratio. Students also have access to local postgraduate training pathways to help them reach their career goals.

Our students are immersed in the clinical environment, looking after patients and completing ward rounds. This clinical learning is paired with a formal teaching program to round out students clinical training at Warrnambool Rural Clinical School.

Deakin owns six 4-bedroom homes, all located within 5km of the clinical school, which are available to be rented by medicine students. Alternatively, students can also rent homes privately through the local real estate agents in the area.
