Applications are now open for Trimester 2 2027. You’ll need to first book an initial exchange appointment with a Student Central Student Adviser to discuss your eligibility and outgoing study plan before the deadline of Friday 16 October 2026.
Funding opportunities
There’s never been a better time to apply – a range of travel grants and financial support options are available to help make your study abroad dreams a reality:
- 1 x $12,500 AUD Lushan Charles Qin Scholarship for a student attending East China Normal University for a trimester exchange.
- 1 x €2,100 EUR Scholarship from Wageningen University for a Deakin student participating in exchange to Wageningen.
- 1 x €400 EUR Housing Scholarship for Deakin students participating in exchange to the University of Graz.
- $15,000 AUD New Colombo Plan mobility grants available for select hosts.
- OS-HELP loans are available for eligible domestic students to help cover travel expenses like flights and accommodation.
- $10,130 AUD for students studying in one of Asia’s 26 eligible countries.
- Plus, an extra $1,345 AUD for Asian language studies.
- $8,442 AUD for students studying in destinations outside of Asia.
- $10,130 AUD for students studying in one of Asia’s 26 eligible countries.

Applications for Short-Term Partner Programs in T3 2026 are still open, and we are pleased to announce grants are available for select programs.
Destination Australia Cheung Kong Exchange Program
The Destination Australia Cheung Kong Exchange Program, or DACKEP for short, offers limited $2,642 grants for selected programs in Asia over T3 2026.
To be eligible, students must have been accepted by the host institution into one of the below programs, be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate course at Deakin, and not have received a grant under this scheme previously.
- 2 x grants for Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), South Korea
- 2 x grants for Yonsei University, South Korea
- 1 x grant for Sophia University, Japan
Summer Abroad grant
Deakin Abroad is also pleased to offer 10 grants worth $1,000 each to support participation in select programs in T3 2026.
To be eligible for the grant, students must:
- be a current Deakin student
- have applied for and been accepted by the host institution into one of the eligible programs
- have paid the $55 Deakin Abroad application fee
- agree to share content about their experience on Deakin Abroad’s social media channels
- not have received another Deakin Abroad grant for T3 2026.

If more eligible students apply than grants available, Deakin Abroad will consider:
- Academic results (WAM)
- Stage of degree, with consideration given to final-year students
- Motivation and willingness to share their experience through Deakin Abroad’s social media channels.
