Short-term partner programs
Short-term partner programs are available through Deakin’s partner universities and approved hosts. They offer you a short-term experience with a long-term impact.
Eligibility
To participate you must have a minimum Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 60 unless otherwise stated. Some discretion may apply to this requirement. If you have a question about eligibility, please email us at short-term-abroad@deakin.edu.au.
Short-term partner programs
There are two types of short-term partner programs:
- Exchange – where you pay tuition fees to Deakin as per normal but pay all associated program costs directly to your host institution.
- Study abroad – where you pay tuition fees and all associated program costs directly to your host institution.
You will be required to pay a $55 non-refundable short-term application fee when you apply. Your application will not be considered if this fee is not paid.
Please refer to the specific program brochure to find out whether your program is exchange or study abroad. Program application deadlines vary per program according to the host university. Some programs have limited places and may close early if all places are filled.
Applications for June-July 2023 have now closed. Applications for Trimester 3, 2023 will be open from August–September 2023.
Undertaking your final unit abroad
If you are undertaking your final unit abroad, your attendance at a graduation ceremony may be delayed due to your host university releasing results at conflicting times.
By proceeding with a short-term partner program application, you acknowledge that you will need to attend the next available graduation ceremony.
