We celebrate the next generation of research stars at Deakin’s 3MT/VYT Grand Final

The annual Deakin University Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) and Visualise Your Thesis (VYT) Grand Final event  held on 12 August showcased our brilliant research students competing to be the best at research communication.

The Grand Final was the culmination of the Researcher Development Academy’s four-month 3MT®/VYT Engaging Research Communication program. The program provides tailored support and training for our research students to learn how to effectively communicate the impact of their research project to a non-specialist audience.

Supported by our Vice Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor or Research, distinguished guest and special Deakin alumni Neary Ty from Channel 9 News the afternoon was full of entertaining and compelling research, and included a live vote for the People’s Choice Awards.
