Student Experience Ambassadors

Student Experience Ambassadors work in partnership with Deakin to deliver awesome orientation, social, health and wellbeing, and graduation events and activities.

What Student Experience Ambassadors do

Student Experience Ambassadors are actively involved in Deakin’s health and wellbeing programs, including:

  • supporting and promoting orientation including campus tours, assisting on the Welcome Desk and participating in events.
  • supporting student events like Fusion Festival, International Student Connect Program, Mind Matters and more.
  • helping students understand how and where to access Deakin’s support program and services.
  • co-creating, co-designing and helping to deliver events, programs and activities.
  • supporting student engagement with a range of social and sporting events and activities.

Student Experience Ambassadors are empowered to influence what Deakin does for students, including the opportunity to lead and run programs.

Why you should become a Student Experience Ambassador

Joining this ambassador program will give you the chance to:

  • gain new practical skills
  • undertake professional development and training
  • make new friends and work collaboratively as part of a passionate and fun team
  • have a positive impact on students, especially new students starting at Deakin.

Student Experience Ambassador roles are paid casual positions open to all continuing Deakin students.

What our ambassadors have to say about the program

To be an Orientation Ambassador is to be the face of Deakin, representing its inclusive and welcoming brand. It’s the chance to give life and add colour to the student community, ensuring it is a safe space, a home away from home, a cohesive unit that values its diversity, and celebrates academic and social wellbeing.
