rtl-1786530618619-552

Looking to get some fresh air in nature and help the environment alongside fellow Deakin students, staff and community? We invite you to Tree Planting Day at Waurn Ponds on Thursday 16 July.

We’ll be planting indigenous trees, shrubs and grasses to expand the habitat along the creek, supporting our beloved critically endangered Swift Parrots and vulnerable Yarra Pygmy Perches.

Everyone is welcome, whether you’re a seasoned gardener or interested in trying it for the first time.

When and where to meet

When: Thursday 16 July, 8.30am-1pm

Where: Waurn Ponds Campus, planting site along the Waurn Ponds Creek

The planting site this year is down the hill from Deakin’s solar microgrid. Further instructions for parking and access will be circulated closer to the event.

Find out more and register now to attend!

What to bring

Please bring gardening gloves, closed toe shoes and a water bottle.

Light refreshments will be provided on site at the conclusion of the event.
