T2 2025, T1 2026 Mentor

Hi, I’m Jane, a Master of Biotechnology student at Deakin. I became a Peer Mentor because I remember how overwhelming the first few weeks of uni felt, especially trying to figure everything out on your own. Having someone just a little ahead of me made a huge difference, and now I’d love to offer that same support to others.

My favourite part of the 2026 program is that it was a fresh start, new students, new stories, and new connections to build within our SEBE community.

Outside of uni, I enjoy teaching myself random tech skills. Recently, I’ve been learning how to use Windows PowerShell to automate small tasks, like organising files or editing images, rather than relying on random free trials online.

My advice? Don’t be afraid to ask questions early — clarity builds confidence.
