T2 2026 Mentor

Hi, I’m Mansidaque Kaur, a first-year Master of Construction Management (Professional) student at Deakin University. I became a SEBE Peer Mentor because I wanted to help new students feel welcomed, supported, and confident as they begin their university journey. Having experienced the transition into a new environment myself, I know how valuable it is to have someone you can turn to.

During the 2026 program, I was most excited about connecting with my mentees, creating a safe space for honest conversations, and watching them grow in confidence throughout the trimester. When I was mentee, SEBE became my safe space, where I found people, I could connect with, talk to openly and learn from. It showed me how much a supportive community can shape your university's experience and I wanted to give that same feeling of belonging to others.

My biggest advice to new students is that don’t be afraid to reach out and put yourself out there, the connections you make will make Deakin feel like home.

A fun fact about me is that I’d love to become a baker someday!
