T1 2026 Mentor

Hey everyone, my name is Marianne, and I am currently enrolled in my second year of a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours). I have always been a fanatic for travelling and one of my goals is to take my camera around the world (I am a photographer who likes cinematic shots).

Peer mentoring created a space for learning, enabling me to innovate and grow into the person I aspire to be and build resilience by helping students navigate through academic and personal challenges. Irrespective of what this role had to offer, I was most excited about meeting people who were like-minded.

A philosophy I stand by is that we are all still learning… take things one step at a time. I started my journey at Deakin as an excited 17-year-old, and one thing is that my passion for engineering continues to grow into an extraordinary experience of becoming a better version of myself.
