Master of Information Technology (Professional)

T2 2026 Mentor

Hi, I'm Nicholas, a final-year MIT student at Deakin's Burwood Campus. My areas of interest include Frontend development, Mobile app development, and Virtual Reality, to build things that are both functional and user-friendly.

I became a Peer Mentor because I wanted to share what I'd learned during my time at Deakin and honestly, to challenge myself as well. As an introvert, connecting with new people doesn't always come naturally to me, but mentoring gave me a meaningful reason to step outside my comfort zone. What I enjoyed most was seeing mentees gain confidence as the trimester progressed.

My tip for new students: if you're struggling, immediately go and ask for help. Deakin has lots of incredible resources, so use them early!

Outside of uni, I love bouldering! If you're into climbing or want to give it a try, hit me up. Always happy to have a climbing buddy!
