T2 2026 Mentor

Hi! I’m Reet, a second-year Bachelor of Computer Science student at Deakin University. I became a Peer Mentor because starting university is one of those points where you are expected to suddenly know how everything works, when, necessarily, most of us do not. I wanted to be the person who makes that transition slightly less confusing. Being a former mentee myself, becoming a mentor felt like a natural way to pass that support forward.

What I’ve enjoyed most about the 2026 program is getting to know my mentees, hearing about their experiences and helping them find their feet at Deakin.

Outside mentoring, I enjoy data science, debating, reading and exploring how technology can make sense of real-world problems.

My advice to new students is simple: ask early, explore widely, and do not assume you need to know exactly where you are going yet.
