Master of Engineering (Prof.)
T1 2026 Mentor

I am a second year Master of Engineering (Professional) student studying mainly civil and mechanical engineering. I chose to pursue Peer Mentoring after attending a SEBE Cheap Eats event in 2025. I spoke with Laura from the Transition team and received a piece of merch from her. I found the merch again recently and decided it was a sign to apply!

I was excited to help people in the Program and support my cohort to get used to their new environment, particularly international students. I was also looking forward to meeting and supporting people from beyond my Engineering cohort. As the Postgraduate Representative for the SEBE Board, I am always excited to meet more peers in the wider Faculty.

My main passion in life is my study of Engineering, eventually aspiring to pursue a PhD in the field. Outside of academic pursuits, I love food and cooking, with some of my favourite dishes to cook being garlic chicken or a good bowl of green pesto pasta. A fun fact about me: I’ve studied in multiple countries, including Sri Lanka, Malaysia, the United Kingdom and Australia.

My best advice for commencing students - join everything and then decide what you don’t like or are not interested in continuing. Don’t form an opinion on something before trying it out because you never know what you might fall in love with!
