By car
The Geelong Waterfront Campus is an hour's drive from Melbourne, depending on traffic.
- From Melbourne CBD take the M1.
- Take the Princes Highway exit (A10) towards Geelong.
- Take the Mercer Street exit towards City Centre.
- Turn left onto Brougham Street.
- Turn left onto Gheringhap Street.
By train
Geelong train station is just 400 metres from Costa Hall at Deakin’s Waterfront Campus. V/Line trains operate from Geelong to Melbourne throughout the day and take just over an hour.
By bus
The Geelong Waterfront Campus is well-serviced by suburban bus lines, which operate across Geelong and outer regions. The main bus interchange is located in Moorabool Street, around 700 metres from the campus.
Restricted parking at Deakin Geelong Waterfront Campus
Deakin has a small car park (CP3) and new Multideck Carpark (CP2) found on Smythe Street that will be available on the day with limited spaces available.
Please note: Smythe Street is currently one-way due to the convention centre construction and can only be accessed from Cavendish Street.
Payment is required in this car park between the hours of 8.30am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. Permits can be purchased by the hour or by the day through CellOPark, our pay-as-you-go system, at $1.60 per hour or $6.40 for the day. We recommend that you download the free CellOPark app and create an account before the day. The Waterfront Campus is zone number 1040200.
As the spaces in the Deakin car park are extremely restricted, we recommend seeking alternate parking options in and around the Waterfront Campus.
Westfield Geelong Shopping Centre parking
Westfield Geelong Shopping Centre will be extending their parking operating hours for Deakin students and their guests.
- Location: 76 Brougham Street, Geelong. Please note that extended days and hours are applicable for this parking lot only. All other Westfield parking will close as normal at 7pm.
- Entry to the car park afterhours can be accessed via the Brougham Street pedestrian entry.
- Days and times for extended hours:
- Tuesday 17 September - Friday 20 September; 7am–8.30pm
Westfield parking is ticketless and payment will need to be made via credit card at the exit gate. If you encounter any issues, please press the 'help' button for assistance.

Warrnambool is a just under three hours from Melbourne by car or just over three hours via Geelong by train.
By public transport
The closest train station to the Lighthouse Theatre is Warrnambool station/Merri Street, just 500 metres away.
Rail (and coach) services run daily from Melbourne, Geelong, Mt Gambier, Portland, Port Fairy, Ballarat and Hamilton. These services connect with public transport to other regional and interstate centres.
The Warrnambool Council provides both free and metered parking spaces for short- and long-term parking in and around the city centre.
