Assessments, results and special consideration

When it comes to preparing for your end-of-unit assessments, sometimes it’s hard to know where to begin. Here are some simple strategies to make sure you’re ready to perform your best.

  • Write down important assessment information and key dates in your diary so you can see your assessment timeline at a glance. Block out time leading up to the due dates specifically for revision. Try to stagger your revision according to the order of your due dates.
  • Aim to keep up with course content from Week 1 of the study period, but if you’ve fallen behind, go through the course materials methodically over the course of a couple of weekends and write your own summaries.
  • Look back at the feedback you’ve received on prior assessments or reach out to your unit chair to get some new feedback. You can also chat to our Study Support team to get advice on how you can improve your work from looking at past assessments.

Results

You can check the results release date for your study period by visiting our Important dates webpage.

Waiting for your results can be a stressful time. The quickest and easiest way to receive your results is to have them sent via SMS to your phone. You can register by following these steps:

  • In StudentConnect, go to the ‘Contact details’ screen, under Personal details.
  • Scroll to the ‘Would like your results sent to your mobile?’ field, select ‘Edit’.
  • Click to fill the ‘Yes’ checkbox, then select ‘Save’ to confirm the change.
  • It’s a good idea to check your mobile number is correct. Your current mobile number is listed in the ‘Mobile phone’ field, which you’ll find under ‘Postal address’.

Results will be sent from 10am on the day of release. You only need to register once to receive results for the duration of your enrolment at Deakin.

Alternately, you can log in to StudentConnect from 10.30am on the day of release to view and print your results.

If you’re having trouble understanding your results, you can view our results key to understand what the results represent. If you have a question about your results, read our Results FAQs or contact Student Central.
