What are Deakin graduates doing three years after graduation?

Findings from the 2019 Graduate Outcome Survey – Longitudinal (GOS-L), the national survey of higher education graduates 3 years after graduation.

664 Deakin postgraduates from 2019 responded to the 2023 GOS-L which gave a 46% response rate.

Overall employment

  • 95% are employed full time
  • 66% were working as a professional
  • 21% were working as a manager
  • 37% have changed occupation within the same business.

Graduates in full time employment

  • 3 years ago, 80% were working full time. Now, 95% are in full-time work
  • 86% have been employed full time in their role for at least 12 months
  • 42% found their new* job via internet ads (*previous 12 months).

Graduates were in diverse work

  • 136 occupations
  • 96 industries
  • Employers based in nine countries

Knowing what they know now...

  • 81% of graduates would still study at Deakin
  • 67% of graduates would still study the same qualification or study area.
