Safer Community is a free, confidential support service for staff and students who experience concerning, threatening, inappropriate or uncomfortable behaviour. Safer Community is the central point of contact for reports of problem behaviour, disclosures of sexual harm, domestic and family violence, and missing persons. Email safercommunity@deakin.edu.au, call 03 9244 3734 or make a report.

Deakin Security Phone 1800 062 579 for assistance on campus. Download the Safe Zone app to access security while on campus.

Counselling and Psychological Support offers free and confidential counselling and psychological support to Deakin students. Deakin also offers on-campus CASA support at Burwood Campus.

Deakin Medical Centres provide accessible medical services for all current students and staff.

Disability support – Deakin's Disability Resource Centre (DRC) promotes inclusion and access for people who experience disability and those with primary carer responsibilities.

Spiritual wellbeing – journey with anyone seeking to explore the sense of the spiritual in their life.

Deakin University Student Association (DUSA) offers confidential advice and support. Advocates will listen to your concerns and assist you with your academic and personal matters.

The Sexual Assault Crisis Line Victoria (SACL) is a state-wide, after-hours, confidential, telephone crisis counselling service for people who have experienced both past and recent sexual assault. 1800 806 292.

Centres Against Sexual Assault (CASA)

Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre 1800 015 188. Victorian Family Violence Response Centre for women, young people and children experiencing family violence. 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week.

The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre offers free and confidential trauma-informed sexual assault and family violence services – crisis care, counselling and case management. Geelong: 03 5222 4318.  Wimmera: 03 5381 1211

The Orange Door is a free service for those experiencing or have experienced family violence, and families who need extra support with the care of children. Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm. 1800 321 820.

Djirra provides practical support to all Aboriginal women and particularly to Aboriginal people who are currently experiencing family violence or have in the past. 1800 015 188.

inTouch Multicultural Centre Against Family Violence works with women and children from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds who are victim survivors of domestic violence. 1800 755 988.

Women’s Legal Service Victoria

MensLine offers free help, support, referrals and counselling for men.

Child Protection Emergency Service: Call 13 12 78 to report concerns about the immediate safety of a child after hours.

Police Change to “Call Triple Zero (000). For non-emergency queries related to sexual harm and child abuse contact your nearest police station and ask to speak to a police officer from the Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT).

Beyond Blue mental health support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 1300 224 636.

Lifeline Australia is a national charity providing all Australians experiencing a personal crisis with access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services.  13 11 14.

Kids Helpline is the national support line for people aged under 25. You can contact them anytime for any reason. Online chat or call them on 1800 55 1800.
