Honours in exercise sport science or nutrition sciences

An honours year will improve your skills in areas highly desired by employees – such as project and time management, written and oral communication and teamwork.

The School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences has outstanding teaching and research facilities, strong industry partnerships with sporting, government, community, health and food organisations, and our students receive authentic ‘hands-on’ experiences. An honours degree from Deakin provides a stepping-stone to a career in research and/or industry.

We offer the following honours degrees within the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences:

How to apply

Your first step in securing a place in the honours program is to review the honours project booklet. It outlines all the available projects as well as detailing the application process in full. You will then need to complete our two-part application process:

  1. Review the project offerings in the project booklet and choose your preferred project.
  2. Contact the named supervisors via contact details provided in the Project Booklet to discuss the projects you are interested in. Complete the Project Selection Form_Honours, which requires endorsement from the Principal Supervisor for the project.
  3. Please Note: Interested applicants should ideally contact the Principal Supervisor at least 3–4 weeks before submitting the application, indicating your expression of interest. This will allow sufficient time for their endorsement.

  4. Submit a course application through Deakin’s applicant portal, including all your supporting documents as outlined in the portal. You will be required to attach the endorsed Project Selection Form as a part of your application.
  5. Also send a copy of the endorsed Project Selection Form to the Honours course team (sens_honours@deakin.edu.au)

Start early to secure the project and supervisor that best fits your interests!
