Global Experiential Learning

Experiential learning at its best
Global Experiential Learning (GEL) engages Deakin students through Work Integrated Learning, Social Impact Programs and our High Achieving Series in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. Make yourself stand out on the job market while gaining course credit as you try one (or more) of our programs.
GEL programs are typically of 2-4 weeks’ duration. They are run twice a year: over the June/July inter-trimester break and during the November-February (T3) period. Applications open in March and August respectively. Funding may also be available.
Your GEL experience can include the following:
Work Integrated Learning (WIL)
Think: Internship, real-world experience with some of the best companies around the world
Social Impact Programs
Think: Community development, health promotion, environmental justice, United Nations SD Goals
High Achiever Series
Think: Selective research opportunities, prominent internships, global conferences
