M729 - Juris Doctor - Request for CSP consideration 2026

This form is for students commencing in the Juris Doctor program in the 2026 academic year who are seeking a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) under one of the categories below.

CSP places are limited and allocated based on demonstrated need and eligibility. Submitting this form is not a guarantee of receiving a CSP. Please make sure you complete this form and provide the information as detailed.

Who Can Apply

You are eligible to apply if you:

  • meet the citizenship and residency requirements for a CSP
  • have applied for admission to the Juris Doctor and received a firm offer in 2026
  • are not a recipient of the Deakin Scholarship for Excellence – Juris Doctor
  • meet one or more of the equity categories below (see Equity Categories)
  • are enrolled in, or will enrol in, at least one credit point of study in your JD in Trimester 3 2026
  • submit this form and all supporting documents by C.O.B Sunday 18 October.

Equity categories

If you are eligible to apply for a CSP and demonstrate that you are from a disadvantaged socioeconomic background; and/or are currently experiencing financial hardship, you need to meet one of the following criteria.

Disadvantaged socioeconomic background

If you have lived in a regional or remote area of Australia which has impacted your ability to study, please complete this form. We will confirm your eligibility using the home postcode you used when you applied to Deakin.

You can submit an optional personal statement describing how your socioeconomic circumstances have affected your access to education and/or academic performance.

Please note: further supporting evidence may also be requested where appropriate.

Financial hardship

What Happens Next

After the application submission deadline of 18 October 2026, applications  will be pooled and assessed by our Admissions team. An outcome will be provided to your Deakin email account prior to the start of Trimester 3, 2026.
