Domestic full fee-paying students

What is a full fee-paying place?

A full fee-paying place is one for which the University does not receive any Australian Government funding. Students enrolled in these places are required to pay the full cost of their course.

How much will my fees be?

The tuition fees charged for each study period depends on your course, when you commenced your studies, your study load and the type of study you are undertaking.

As a domestic fee-paying student, you can be enrolled in either an award or a non-award course. The fee rates shown below are for award course studies. If you are enrolled in a non-award unit, your fees are available at non-award fee paying students or via Deakin's fee estimator.

You may still have other fees to pay as part of your study, such as a Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) and academic services charges.

Undergraduate domestic full fee-paying place

If you are enrolled in an undergraduate course, your tuition fees are charged on the units you enrol in. This means your fees are based on the units you choose to study and not a course price. The cost of each unit depends on a government classification known as a discipline band.

To estimate the total cost of your units, use Deakin's fee estimator. You will need to know the units you plan to study. You should always seek course advice in relation to unit selection and course rules. Different units have different fees, which will show on your invoices.

Postgraduate domestic full fee-paying place

If you are enrolled in a postgraduate course, your tuition fees are charged based on the course you are enrolled in, when you commenced your studies, and the number of credit points you study. Different courses have different fees and these will change each year.

To estimate your postgraduate course fees, use Deakin's fee estimator. You will need to know which units you intend to study. You should always seek course advice in relation to your unit selection and course rules.

How do I pay my fees?

You can view your invoice in StudentConnect which will detail your course fees. You have several different options for paying them, and you must pay them by the due date to avoid penalty.

If you withdraw early from a unit or your course, you may be eligible for a full or partial refund of fees.
