Friday Friends
About
If you're a new international student, Friday Friends supports you during the early stages of your transition to Deakin and Australia.
The program offers an opportunity for you make new connections with other students by sharing your experiences, learning about university life, as well as introducing you to the Deakin and local community.
How it works
Friday Friends is a series of casual catch-ups held on campus every Friday for the first four weeks of trimester. Hosted by a student experience officer who knows the ins and outs of Deakin life, it's a chance to get to know your campus and your community, meet other students, and ask any questions you have about university or Australia.
Benefits
As a new international student, participating in Friday Friends can help you:
- learn more about Deakin and your community
- learn more about Australian culture and the cultures of other new international students
- connect with other new students, as well as making new friendships
- develop your social networks.
