Maintenance Work Request
Request maintenance for the University's facilities.
You will need to choose the ‘Submit a Maintenance Request’ option below then log in with your Deakin username and password. This will take you to the ‘Report Problem’ view.
Examples of maintenance includes repairs and cleaning within the existing buildings and grounds.

New Works Request (chargeable or centrally funded)
Request new works, such as, construction, renovations or modifications of University facilities.
You will need to choose one of ‘New works (chargeable)’ or ‘New works (centrally funded)’ options below, then log in with your Deakin username and password. This will take you to the ‘Report Problem’ view.
Examples of new works include installing a pin board, a new/additional power point or lighting, building a bookshelf, or a larger construction job such as a refurbishment.
The Infrastructure and Property Group assess all new work requests based on the justification you provide. While the University funds some new works, known as centrally funded, others may be chargeable.
Chargeable Works
- works for space which is not Deakin occupied are chargeable and an account code is required. These areas include residences, leased space and food tenants
- works for Deakin occupied space i.e. faculties, divisions and groups that have been assessed as outside the centrally funded scope and deemed chargeable over $1000. You will be contacted to discuss if necessary.
You must ensure the appropriate financial delegations (signing authority) for your area approve cost for these works before you make the request.
- Centrally Funded Works
- works for Deakin occupied space i.e. faculties, divisions and groups. If the work is assessed as outside the centrally funded scope and deemed chargeable over $1000, an account code will be requested.
Fire Isolation Request
Request a fire isolation for the University’s facilities.
You will need to choose the ‘Submit a Fire Isolation Request’ option below then log in with your Deakin username and password. This will take you to the ‘Report Problem’ view.
Before requesting a Fire Isolation, you must assess if an isolation is required and the risk level. You may only request Fire Isolations when necessary, and with at least 48 hours’ notice.

Furniture Request
Request new or used furniture and/or relocation or removal of surplus furniture.
You will need to choose the ‘Submit Furniture Request’ option below then log in with your Deakin username and password. This will take you to the ‘Report Problem’ view.
Examples of furniture requests include staff office furniture (i.e. chairs, workstations, and storage units), removal of surplus furniture (i.e. items no longer required in a room), and furniture changes in any other University spaces (i.e. teaching spaces, meeting rooms, and corridors).
The removal and relocation of office furniture and request for new furniture is chargeable.
The removal of obsolete furniture left in circulation or non-occupied space and teaching space furniture is centrally funded.
While the University funds some furniture (known as ‘centrally funded’), the majority of requests are chargeable so all requests require an account code and will then be assessed individually and quoted as necessary.
Signage Request
Request new signage or signage repairs.
You will need to choose the ‘Submit a Signage Request’ option below then log in with your Deakin username and password. This will take you to the ‘Report Problem’ view.
Examples of signage include, building directories, room numbers, changes to external wayfinding signage, damaged or broken University signs that require repair.
Signage requests for individual or team workspaces are chargeable.
New directional signage that services public University space is centrally funded.

Event Space Assessment Request
You will need to choose the ‘Submit a Space Assessment Request’ option below then log in with your Deakin username and password. This will take you to the ‘Report a Problem’ view.
Secure Document Disposal Request
You will need to choose the ‘Submit a Secure Document Disposal Request’ option below then log in with your Deakin username and password. This will take you to the ‘Report Problem’ view.
Request to dispose of University records
Approval must be granted by Information and Records Services (IRS) before disposing of any work-related documents. Confidential records (e.g. student or staff information, contracts and agreements or financial records) must be disposed via a secure disposal bin.
To order a secure bin or seek approval for record disposal, please submit your request as per below.
