Faculty-led programs with the WIL team
Want to take your first step abroad as part of a group? Faculty-led programs are arranged by the WIL team and provide you with a guided international experience. You will be accompanied by faculty staff and the WIL team will typically arrange group flights and accommodation for you as part of these experiences.

International WIL Programs - MWL319 & MWL719
Join a group of fellow business and law students on international consulting programs. These 2-week industry-based programs place student groups of 4-5 with a local company to solve a business problem or project. At the end of the project, student groups provide the host company with a report and presentation. These programs also include a range of cultural and tourist activities.
Successful students will be enrolled in MWL319 or MWL719 International Consultancy Experience and complete assessments as part of the program.

Faculty-led Study Tours
Want to study a core, major sequence or elective unit abroad? Faculty Study Tours are an alternative way to undertake a unit in your degree intensively overseas. These programs are 2-3 weeks in duration and involve academic, industry and cultural activities at a partner university abroad. You’ll usually see these units with ‘tour’ in the title.

University programs with Deakin Abroad
Want to study overseas more independently? The university Deakin Abroad team have a number of short-term and long-term overseas programs which any Deakin student can apply for.
The Faculty WIL team have pre-approved a number of university programs which can contribute towards a core, major sequence or elective unit in your business or law degree.

Short-Term Partner Programs
Want to participate in a partner university winter or summer school? The faculty has pre-approved short-term programs at overseas universities during the trimester breaks. These are 2–3-week intensive units matched to core, major or electives in your degree.
You will typically need to arrange your own flights and accommodation is provided by the host university for the program duration.
Program applications are managed by the University Deakin Abroad team. Available short-term partner programs can be found via the Deakin Abroad website.
International Internships - MWL318/MWL718 & MLL338/MLJ738
Global Experiential Learning (GEL) includes a range of social impact and internship programs facilitated by external providers to the university. Business & Law have the following pre-approved providers:
- Australian Chamber of Commerce (AustCham) – Hong Kong, China
- International Internships - Indonesia
These programs are typically government funded through the New Colombo Plan (NCP) scheme and are available to both business and law students for credit.
