Support services
Your Orientation program will guide you through your orientation at Deakin, but there are some essential places that will help you during your first days as a student.
Student Central
Student Central is your starting point for any question you have about your Deakin studies, including enrolment assistance, course advice, financial help and assessment queries. And, if a student adviser can’t help, they’ll point you in the right direction.
Study Support
Deakin's Study Support team provides academic assistance so you can achieve your best in your studies. Use our Study Support guides to learn about different kinds of assessments, as well as study tips and tricks. There's also a range of study assistance available including 1:1 appointments with Study Support staff and online student mentor drop-in sessions.
Health and wellbeing support
Your academic success depends on you feeling happy and well. At Deakin we offer a range of health and wellbeing services to support you to achieve your best results. You can receive confidential support from our counselling and chaplaincy teams.
Deakin Library
Our Library is the heart of the University. No matter what or where you study, the Library will be a key part of your success at Deakin. The Library website has a handy chat feature in the bottom right-hand corner – it's the quickest way to get a real-time answer to a question about the Library and its services. The GIFT City campus also has a small physical collection on-site with Student Central staff on-hand to help you locate what you need.
Disability support
If you're neurodivergent or living with a physical or mental health condition that impacts your studies or participation in university life, our Disability Resource Centre (DRC) is here to help with resources and adjustments that will allow you to achieve your best. There are also resources available to you if you care for a person with a disability.
Careers and employment
From part-time work while you study, to your first role as a graduate, DeakinTALENT is our career and employment service that will help you reach your career goals. Take advantage of the opportunities on the jobs and internships board, improve your resume, or speak with a career coach, so when you are applying for your graduate role, your name is at the top of the candidate list for consideration!
