Deakin Medical Centre

Accessible and confidential medical services for all students and staff, provided by qualified and experienced medical doctors and nurses.

Please do not present to a Deakin Medical Centre if you are unwell or have flu-like symptoms, instead please book a telehealth appointment. When attending a face-to-face appointment please ensure you wear a mask.

COVID-19 vaccines are now available, visit vaccinations for more information.

Appointments

Deakin Medical Centres continue to provide services to Deakin students residing in Australia. If you are a Deakin student who is currently overseas, please contact your local health care provider for health services and advice.

As our centres run on an appointment system we encourage you to book an appointment online, by phone or by visiting a centre. Walk-ins will be triaged and allocated the first available consultation. This means there may be wait times depending on the urgency of the presentation.

We recommend that you see your doctor for all health-related issues including results and paperwork. Our doctors do not respond to emails from patients. If you wish to contact your doctor please phone the practice and leave a message or email us at askanurse@deakin.edu.au.

We are unable to provide home visits. If you are unwell and need to speak with a healthcare professional, a phone call with the campus nurse can be arranged.

Health and wellbeing for international students

Staying healthy can help you succeed. At Deakin, international students are eligible for free health checks, which are conducted on campus by a qualified Bupa nurse. Health checks run for 30 minutes, are confidential and you receive a personal results booklet to take away. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask questions about your health.
