Bhavisha Patel

Bhavisha Patel

Bhavisha is a PhD student in her final year of candidature. Her research is focused on the targeted therapy of metformin, a known anti-diabetic drug, using aptamer technology to protect the important beta-cells from further dysfunction in type 2 diabetes. She is based at the Waurn Ponds campus.

Cherie is a PhD student in the second year of her candidature. Her PhD research focuses on the effect of policy actions to reduce added sugar consumption on the food supply, in particular their influence on non-nutritive sweeteners. Cherie is based at the Burwood Campus of Deakin University

Sara is a PhD student in the final year of her candidature. Her PhD research focuses on lifestyle patterns and associations with cognitive outcomes in adults. Sara is based at the Burwood Campus of Deakin University.

Dominika Howard

Dominika is a PhD student in her second year of candidature. Her doctoral work focuses on body image and digital sexual communication (sexting) among young Australian adults. Her research interests centre on cyber-psychology and problematic online sexual behaviours, relationships, and personality. Dominika is based at the Burwood Campus of Deakin University.

Gabby is a PhD student in her second year of candidature. She is a critical care registered nurse and nurse lecturer. Gabby’s research interests focus on nurses’ decision making, especially in response to changes in patients’ clinical states. Gabby is based at Burwood.

Snehal Midge

Snehal is a PhD student in the final year of her candidature. She has diverse research experience in nanotechnology, cancer diagnostics and therapeutics. Snehal is involved in developing novel diagnostic strategies to detect HER2 positive breast cancer in earlier stages by exploiting the emerging nano platform of extracellular vesicles in circulation to study this carcinoma at an early stage. She is based at the Waurn Ponds campus.
