Utilising Social Media as a Professional

Learn the do's and don'ts for using social media as a professional. Get a head start on establishing a professional presence online.

The event is open to all Deakin students interested in learning more about using social media as a professional.

Week 2

Writing your first assignment at Deakin

You've enjoyed your start to university life, but now assignment deadlines are around the corner. Feeling confused or just not sure where to start? Deakin has some great support available to you. Join the SEBE Peer Mentors to hear about their experiences. Topics include understanding the task and your resources and where to turn for help.

Bollywood Dance Fitness

Learn Bollywood Dance choreography while you exercise. No experience necessary and sweat guaranteed! It is suitable for all age groups with an option for LIT (Low Intensity Training) modifications. BollyX is not just a fun break from your studies, but also great for mental health as dance also uplifts your mood!

How to Build an Industry Network from Scratch: Success Stories from Students

Join student leaders who have explored and leveraged opportunities to not only build their professional network, but also created a foundation for their future career aspirations. At this event you will learn about strategies and techniques for developing your network and will have an opportunity to practice them.

Week 5

Bushtucker: Cooking with Aussie Native Ingredients
Thursday 12 August
5.30 - 6:30pm

Bushfood has been sustaining Indigenous Australians as a source of food and medicine for over 70,000 years. These super foods are packed with flavour, earthy scents, and beautiful colours. Join us in this session to explore the flavours of Indigenous ingredients. We will be preparing an easy to follow kangaroo (or chicken) pasta with native flavours like wattle seed and old man salt bush.

We will also undergo a native ingredients appreciation master-class and explore how they have been sustaining the community both medicinally and nutritionally for thousands of years

Attendees will go in to the draw to in 1 of 3 Australia Native Experience Gift boxes valued at $149.00 each

Week 7

Deakin University Battle of the Faculties: Sport Edition
Thursday 2 September
4.30 - 6:30pm
Cost: FREE

Join us for basketball, badminton and Deakin Moves activities for the Battle of the Faculties: Sports Edition! You can participate on campus at the Burwood, Waurn Ponds and Warrnambool campuses or online. Individual and groups welcome to join with teams arranged on the day. It's a great way to take a break from study, have some fun and meet new people. There are a lots of prizes up for grabs!
