Our graduation ceremonies are held in Geelong and Warrnambool. Both locations are accessible by public and private transport, and have short-term accommodation options.
Graduation ceremonies are held in Costa Hall at the Geelong Waterfront Campus, and at The Lighthouse Theatre in Warrnambool.
Costa Hall, Geelong Waterfront Campus
The Geelong Waterfront Campus is an hour's drive from Melbourne, depending on traffic.
- From Melbourne CBD take the M1.
- Take the Princes Highway exit (A10) towards Geelong.
- Take the Mercer Street exit towards City Centre.
- Turn left onto Brougham Street.
- Turn left onto Gheringhap Street.
Geelong train station is just 400 metres from Costa Hall at Deakin’s Waterfront Campus. V/Line trains operate from Geelong to Melbourne throughout the day and take just over an hour.
The Geelong Waterfront Campus is well-serviced by suburban bus lines, which operate across Geelong and outer regions. The main bus interchange is located in Moorabool Street, around 700 metres from the campus.
Deakin car parks
Limited parking is available at the Geelong Waterfront Campus car park in Smythe Street.
Tickets can be purchased through the CellOPark parking app which is free to download on any smartphone. To save time, it's a good idea to download CellOPark and create a user account prior to the day of your graduation.
Please note that these car parks are used by students and staff of the campus, so availability can be very restricted. In planning your travel, please ensure you allow adequate time to avoid additional stress.
There are limited spaces available in the streets surrounding the Waterfront campus, including Cunningham Pier – council restrictions apply.
Parking in Geelong’s city centre
- Civic Centre Car Park, Gheringhap Street (Opposite City Hall).
- Westfield Shopping Centre, 95 Malop Street.
- Market Square, corner of Malop and Moorabool Streets.

Waurn Ponds Estate
Stay on our Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus at the Waurn Ponds Estate, a Deakin-owned and operated conference centre just a 20 minute drive from Costa Hall.

The Lighthouse Theatre, Warrnambool
Warrnambool is a just under three hours from Melbourne by car or just over three hours via Geelong by train.
By Public Transport
The closest train station to the Lighthouse Theatre is Warrnambool station/Merri Street, just 500 metres away.
Rail (and coach) services run daily from Melbourne, Geelong, Mt Gambier, Portland, Port Fairy, Ballarat and Hamilton. These services connect with public transport to other regional and interstate centres.
The Warrnambool Council provides both free and metered parking spaces for short- and long-term parking in and around the city centre.
