Student support officers at NIKERI Institute provide assistance with many aspects of students' needs. They arrange both travel and accommodation for all students needing to attend 'intensive' study blocks. They also coordinate interviews for prospective students. They are the first point of contact for many students who wish to make enquiries about any aspect of their time spent studying at NIKERI Institute.

The University provides a range of specialist support services for both on- and off-campus students. These services aim to help students acquire and use those skills, attitudes and resources they need in order to gain maximum educational and personal benefit from their time at Deakin University.
Disability Resource Centre
The Disability Resource Centre provides support to students who have a disability or medical condition. Services provided include advice and advocacy, coordination of alternative study materials, note-taking and interpreting, and alternative examination arrangements. Services are coordinated to meet the individual needs of students.
Language and Learning assistance is available to students to help them develop learning and study skills relevant to tertiary education. These skills include efficient time management, academic reading and competent essay and thesis writing. Sessions and resources in examination techniques and classroom presentations are also offered.
Career Development and Employment Unit
Students at Deakin have access to professional careers counsellors, careers information resource centres, a range of skill-development workshops and employer liaison activities which help prepare them for making the transition to employment after graduation.
Personal and educational counselling
Student counsellors provide a confidential and professional service for students. Counselling focuses on students' need to maximise their tertiary education experience and assists students in solving problems, developing new skills in personal and educational contexts and resolving developmental issues. Counselling can assist with interpersonal relationships and family and social problems where these are affecting a student's study.
Campus nurses provide a free and confidential health service for all students. Doctors are also available by appointment--these consultations are bulk billed. A current Medicare card or health insurance details (international students) is required when seeing a doctor.
Distance education support
Orientation seminars, teleconferences and study resources are offered to new distance education students. General study support programs such as examination preparation and essay writing workshops and teleconferences are arranged throughout the year. On-line computer conferencing is also available.
Deakin's Multifaith Chaplains deliver an important link for staff and students between the wisdom and guidance offered by all religions and the diversity of beliefs. It is not necessary to belong to any religious faith in order to use the chaplaincy services.

To support students on intensive, the Institute of Koorie Education offers for Institute students two computing laboratories and computers at Kitjarra residences. These facilities are supported by local IT staff and also Deakin e-solutions IT help services. Assistance and support with laptops, PC's, tablets and smart phones ensures that students are fully supported in this teaching and learning environment.
Deakin offers many services to help support you in your course. This includes; DeakinSync which is your personalised dashboard. It keeps you connected to Deakin and in control of your learning. Access units, email, a synced calendar and more. Also, Deakin Anywhere allows you to connect, share and collaborate anywhere you are, at any time, on any device using Skype for Business resources, OneDrive and SharePoint.
