Do I need a new Confirmation of Enrolment

Carefully read the following information to discover if you need a new Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) before you submit your application.

Are you currently enrolled?

You cannot be issued a new CoE if you are not enrolled. Email your faculty if you have any questions about your eligibility for a new CoE.

If you are enrolled in a Higher Degree by Research, please email research-hdr@deakin.edu.au.

Does your current CoE or visa expire before the end of the current trimester?

If your CoE or visa expires after the results for the current study period have been released, you should wait until you have received your results for the current trimester before lodging your application for a new CoE.

However, if your visa is due to expire, you must apply for a new CoE immediately.

Please note, your new CoE will take up to 10 working days to issue. You must leave enough time to apply and receive your CoE before your visa expires.

Have you received your results for the most recent trimester?

Applying for a new CoE before your results are released may require another visa extension later on. It is recommended that you wait until you have received your results for the most recent trimester before applying for a new CoE.

However, if your visa or COE is due to expire before you get your results, you must apply for a new CoE before your visa or current CoE expires.

If you have carefully read the previous steps and you are certain that you need a new CoE, please submit your application.

Please read the form carefully and ensure that your visa expiry date is clearly entered in the form and not your CoE end date.

Applications that are incorrect or incomplete cannot be processed and will delay the time taken to issue your new CoE.
